Founded in 1915, Scout Troop 1 West Roxbury is for youth in grade 6 and over. Troop 1 provides a healthy, fun, and educational atmosphere founded in a time-honored Scouting approach: through youth-led patrols enjoying the challenges of the out-of-doors. In this way, the Scouts learn teamwork and leadership through experience and are prepared to be helpful citizens of fitness and good character.

Both Troop 1 and Cub Scout Pack 1 West Roxbury meet at St. John Chrysostom Parish, are chartered with the Friends of New England Base Camp, and are affiliated with Great Blue Hill District of the Spirit of Adventure Council.
